National Honours

Absolutely fantastic to see our West Yorkshire Scout President Kim Leadbeater and our former County Commissioner / County Vice President Mark Stageman, in the New Years Honours list.
A huge congratulations to Kim Leadbeater on being awarded MBE. Kim received her award for services to social cohesion, the community in Batley and Spen in West Yorkshire, and for combating loneliness and isolation during this difficult year. Kim, Ambassador for the Jo Cox foundation, was recognised for stepping up her fantastic work during the pandemic when millions found themselves suddenly cut off from their support networks.
A massive congratulations to our County Vice President and former County Commissioner Mark Stageman on the award of his British Empire Medal in recognition of 30+ years of service to Scouting in West Yorkshire and Nationally. As County Commissioner Mark strived to ensure we developed young people’s life skills, offered Scouting to all communities and provided unforgettable experiences through a youth shaped programme.
Kim and Mark we are all very proud of everything you have achieved – Well done.
