What we do in Scouting
Every year we help over 450,000 young people in the UK enjoy new adventures; to experience the outdoors; interact with others, gain confidence and have the opportunity to reach their full potential.
Working alongside our youth members are thousands of adult volunteers, with a huge variety of roles and opportunities available.
Scouting in West Yorkshire
As a county we help over 8000 young people and are supported by over 3000 adults. We have 14 districts and our county extends from Ilkey in the north to Huddersfield in the south and Halifax in West to Dewsbury in the East. We have a diverse range of areas including inner city Bradford to the countryside in the Aire Valley.
To support the programme we have over 10 activity centres and campsites dotted all over the county and some a bit further afield.
Our adults are supported through our adult training, and our young leaders through a dedicated young leader programme.
