Scouting In Bradford: The Largest Youth Movement In The World

Bradford District Museums and Galleries have worked with West Yorkshire Scout to open a new exhibition at Bradford Industrial Museum. Scouts is the largest Youth Movement in the World.

The exhibition features the stories and photographs of some of the Scouts in the district and information about Scout’s famous ambassadors. Included is a family campfire corner to sit and read together and a programme of activities are being run from spring until the end of summer.

To celebrate the opening of the exhibition, we are holding a grand opening at Bradford Industrial Museum on 10 February, join us for a day of fun activities including: soft archery and axe throwing 1-3pm, speeches 1:30pm and refreshments will be served. All are welcome. We also will be doing an early year’s story and song time on the 10th February at 11:30am.

Also to run alongside the exhibition there will be Scouting Badge Seekers Trail. Join us at Bradford Industrial Museum for the free Scouting Badge Seekers Trail! Explore the Museum and find the Scout badges on display. Find out more about being a Scout and how their badges link in with some of the amazing exhibits in the museum! Available every day the exhibition is open.

Toby Hammond, West Yorkshire Scouts Youth County Commissioner said “We are proud of Scouting in Bradford. It is brilliant to share just a few selections of the amazing stories from someone of amazing young people and fanatic volunteers.”
