Jan 25 – WYSMAIL

Hello,

I hope you’re well! As you may know, UK Scouts are nearing the end of the Skills for Life strategy. It’s time to create a new vision for the next decade, and I’m excited to introduce… The UK Youth Forum!

The UK Youth Forum is about putting young people in the driver’s seat. It’s essential to listen to their ideas and act on them. HQ wants to bring young people together from across the UK to share their voices, exchange ideas, and shape the future of Scouting.

The UK Youth Forum plays a vital role in ensuring young people have a voice at every level of Scouts. To achieve this, HQ will deliver the Forum in two ways:

  1. Local self-led activities: For those unable to attend in person, HQ is developing activities for local volunteers to deliver, ensuring we hear as many voices as possible.
  2. In-person events: Four engaging events will bring together 500+ young people to participate in workshops, share their thoughts on the next strategy, and contribute to national projects.

Here in West Yorkshire, we’re seeking two Scouts and two Explorers to join our delegation at one of these events.

If you know any young people interested, please complete this form: https://forms.gle/6dYP93Ynw9iByZTk8 For questions, email yc@wyscouts.org.uk.

Please share this message with your units and families.

Thanks,

Tobias Hammond
