The Beaver Scouts STEM Day and Disco Sleepover was an unforgettable adventure packed with learning, laughter, and lots of fun! With over a hundred Beavers attending, the day was buzzing with excitement from start to finish.
Throughout the day, Beavers took part in hands-on LEGO engineering challenges, exciting science experiments that fizzed and popped, and even archaeology investigations. They explored how to test ash using different elements like water and vinegar, discovering how science helps us understand the world around us. Space exploration and engineering continued with parachute building and protective designs for the much-anticipated egg drop challenge — some eggs survived the landing, while others… not so much!
As evening arrived, the Beavers prepared their own delicious meal, making French bread pizzas, fruit kebabs, and veggie sticks. After refuelling, they enjoyed giant games, creative crafting, a huge pass-the-parcel, and danced their hearts out at the disco until the very late hour of 8pm! Hot chocolate and supper followed before tents were put up inside the Jubilee Centre, where 50 Beavers settled down under the glow of the big moon shining through.
Morning came (not too early!), bringing a quick pack-up and breakfast before heading home. It was a fantastic event filled with discovery, new friendships, confidence building, and plenty of badges earned along the way. A brilliant celebration of curiosity, creativity, and Beaver spirit!
