These sessions are organised on a District or Colony basis. Beavers will qualify for a Time on the Water badge and towards a Nautical Skills (Stage One) badge. All parents must be able to swim 50 metres and be confident in the water. Although desirable, it is not essential that the Beavers are able to swim, however parents will be responsible for looking after their son or daughter, particularly whilst on the water. All participants will be provided with a buoyancy aid and a helmet.
Where: At the West Yorkshire County Scouts Green Withens Watersports Centre.
The sessions required a minimum number of ten Beavers and ten parents. The maximum numbers per session are thirty Beavers and thirty parents. Parents will be expected to help launch the boats before use, paddle the boats and then recover them after use.
Cost: Only £11 for both the Beaver and parent. Invoice to be paid 28 days before the visit to confirm numbers and allow us to arrange staff.
